The Mathematics Department of the University of Luxembourg has an opening for
11PhD positions, co-financed by a grant from the Luxembourg National Research
Starting date: February 2019 at the earliest. Applications will be treated on a rolling basis
Duration: 14-month initial contract, extendable for up to 3 years, with a further possible 1 year extension if required, 40 hours/week
Teaching duties of up to 60 hours per year
The successful candidates will be expected to conduct research under the guidance of professors (names and areas of expertise listed below), with the aim of obtaining a PhD in mathematics. They will also be expected to contribute to the department’s many activities, including seminars, teaching, outreach and various other research related events.
Our department offers an outstanding and dynamic environment for PhD candidates, with multiple seminars, working groups, colloquia, and a doctoral school which also includes access to multiple training opportunities, including some not only focussed on mathematics. In addition, our modern campus provides excellent facilities, creating an invigorating research environment.
